In the Excel Skills for Business: Essentials, the material is divided into 6 weeks where each week will learn new material. At the end of each week, there will be a blended exam consisting of multiple choice questions and essays. The minimum score standard is 80, and those who score below that will be required to retake the exam.
The breakdown of each week’s material is as follows:
Week 1:
Learning the main basic features of Excel, Microsoft Excel terminology, how to operate the navigation controls, and how to perform data entry.
Week 2:
Introduced to formulas and functions, including how to write them and use them to perform calculations, as well as understanding various cell references.
Week 3:
Discussed formatting that helps highlight important messages and make data look presentable, such as font formatting, borders, number formatting, and styles and themes in Excel.
Week 4:
Learn about managing data and making it easy to use, including how to manage spreadsheets, find data with filters and sort, retrieve and transform data with the Find and Replace tool, and use conditional formatting to highlight certain data.
Week 5:
Discussed how to optimize spreadsheets for printing, including managing margins, orientation, headers, footers and more.
Week 6:
Learn about creating graphs.
